Privacy Policy

Last updated August 26, 2026

This is a small personal site. It collects as little as it can, and this page describes what actually happens rather than what a generic template says happens.

What I collect directly

Nothing, unless you email me. There is no account to create, no comment form, and no field anywhere on this site that writes your details into a database.

The note box on the homepage

The box that invites you to leave an address is a plain mailto form. Submitting it does not send anything to this website. It opens the mail program on your own device with a message already addressed to hello@livinghealthychoices.org, which is a personal inbox that I read. Nothing is transmitted until you press send in your own mail client, and you can close the window without sending it.

There is no mailing list platform behind that box, no subscriber database, and no tracking pixel in anything I send back. When I do write a note out to people, it goes as an ordinary email from that same inbox with the addresses hidden from each other. Reply with the word stop, or write to the address above, and you are off it the same day. If you would like everything you have ever sent me deleted, say so and I will delete it.

Email I receive

Messages sent to that address sit in an ordinary mail account. I keep them while a conversation is live and delete them when it is not. I do not sell them, share them, or add anyone to anything on the strength of having received a message. People sometimes write to me about personal circumstances, and those messages are not quoted anywhere, in an article or otherwise, without asking first.

Server logs

This site is served through Cloudflare, which keeps standard access logs, including IP addresses, for security and for keeping the site up. That is ordinary hosting infrastructure rather than anything I query or analyse. I do not run Google Analytics or any comparable visitor analytics product here.

Cookies

I do not set advertising or analytics cookies. WordPress and Cloudflare may set functional cookies needed to serve pages and to protect against abuse. If someone logs in to write here, which is only me, WordPress sets a session cookie for that.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links are affiliate links, described in full in the affiliate disclosure. When you follow one, the retailer at the other end sets its own cookie to record that you arrived from here, and from that point you are under their privacy policy rather than mine. I never see who clicked what as an individual, only a total.

Embedded content

Pages here include fonts served by Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google to fetch them. No other third party content is embedded, and there are no social widgets or comment systems on this site.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect anything from a child. If a parent believes a child has emailed me, write and I will delete it.

Your rights

Write to hello@livinghealthychoices.org and ask what I hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask me to delete it. Since the honest answer is almost always just your own emails, that is a quick request to fulfil.

Changes

If this policy changes, the last updated date at the top of the page changes with it, and a change of substance gets a note saying what moved.
