How the writing on Living Healthy Choices gets made, what it will never do, and what happens when I get something wrong.

Who writes here

I do, all of it, under my own name. Nothing on this site is bought from a content mill and there is no byline here belonging to a person who does not exist. If that ever changes it gets said on this page first.

This is not health content

The domain says healthy, so the line needs drawing in plain words. I hold no clinical qualification of any kind. Nothing here diagnoses anything, treats anything, or tells you what to put in your body. There are no dosages on this site and no protocols. There are no calorie figures, macro targets or weights presented as a plan, anywhere, by rule. Where a piece touches something that belongs to a clinician, it says so and stops there.

Situation first, conclusion second

Every piece starts from a specific situation on a specific day and stays inside it. What the room was, what the constraint was, what I picked, and whether it held up. A piece that could be retitled as a general rule has drifted away from the thing this site is for and gets rewritten.

What is deliberately absent

No scores, no ratings, no best of anything. No invented product cards and no prices quoted as fact, because prices move. No cited research, because summarising studies I am not trained to read is exactly how this kind of writing goes wrong, and a plausible looking citation is worse than none at all. No before and after photographs, and no weight numbers. Nothing that turns a situation into a scoreboard.

Where confidence comes from

From having been in the situation and having written it down close to the day. Where a piece rests on one evening it says so, and where it rests on something I have done for months it says that instead, because those are not the same kind of evidence and should not read as though they were. What I describe is one person’s experience and is never presented as what will happen to you.

Money and independence

Some links earn a commission, set out in full in the affiliate disclosure. No company reads a piece before it goes up, no company pays for coverage or for a conclusion, and a commission has never decided whether something gets mentioned. Several pieces here end with me deciding a thing was not worth it.

Dates, updates and corrections

Every article carries the date of the situation it describes, and every page shows when it was last updated. A revision of substance carries a note about what changed rather than happening silently, because someone who read the earlier version deserves to know it moved. Where I have changed my mind, the original stays up with its own date on it.
